Frozen pizza cooked on a charcoal grill is the best way to eat a frozen pizza. I grill them year ’round. I have grilled thin crust pizzas, thick crust, and regular crust pizzas. The pizza in the photograph is a frozen thin crust pizza. I added extra cheese, pepperoni, and green olives. The instructions called for cooking the pizza at 400 degrees for about 11 minutes. On the grill, it cooked in about 6 minutes. Here are a few tips for grilling frozen pizzas on a charcoal grill; Allow the pizza to sit at room temperature for about 20 minutes so that it thaws out before grilling. Make sure your grill is clean and once it’s hot, apply some vegetable oil to the grill to help prevent sticking. If you’re grill has the feature, lower the coals to the lowest setting so that the pizza isn’t right on top of the coals. If you can’t lower the coals, you may have to grill with indirect heat by putting the coals at one end of the grill and the pizza at the other. Grill the pizza with the lid on for 5 minutes. Check for doneness. If it’s not done after 5 minutes, check every 2 minutes after that. It will finish quickly. I always look for the cheese on top to be completely melted and maybe even bubbling slightly. Good luck and happy grilling!
